Mark Kennedy developed a keen interest in antiques at a young age and began attending auctions and frequenting antique shops in the mid 1960's.
His early collecting interest included coins, pottery, antique furniture, carnival glass, and Tennessee historical and political items. Since holding his first antique auction with the help of the Late Colonel Don Ellis of Henderson, Tennessee, in 1978 at age 19, Mark has been very active in the antique and the auction industry.
Mark is a C.A.G.A. certified personal property appraiser, State of Tennessee licensed Auctioneer and licensed Tennessee Affiliate Real Estate Broker. Auction and appraisal education include attending, The Certified Appraisal Guild of America, Nashville Auction School, Florida Auction Academy and National Auctioneers Association Personal Property Appraisal School.
Mr. Kennedy was elected during the 2011 Tennessee Auctioneer's Association Winter Convention to serve as the West Tennessee Vice President for the Tennessee Auctioneer's Association. Mark looks on this as an honor and a privilege to help see the auction industry continue to flourish.
Mark is married to former Ms. Jeanne Hooper who is a Registered Nurse with the Jackson Clinic Chemotherapy Department. Mark and Jeanne have three sons Matthew, Josh and Luke. Our auctions are only possible because the whole family pitches in and helps on auction day.
For over 30 years Mark has been dealing in antiques, conducting auctions, attending symposiums/lectures and traveling to shows, museums and auctions across the United States. He is always striving to better serve our clients with one of the largest reference libraries in the industry. 30 years of auction experience uniquely qualify Mark to ascertain the value of your family heirlooms or collection.
